Note: Artsystems Software requires a Windows operating system for Mac or PC.

Macintosh

For Intel Mac owners, there are two inexpensive items to purchase, and two extra steps involved in the installation:

1. Install one of these Apple-recommended software packages, which allow running of Artsystems software at Mac-native speeds. Please see the system requirements for each product:
   • Parallels Desktop (integrates with the Mac desktop)
   • VMWare Fusion (integrates with the Mac desktop)
   • Bootcamp (included on any Intel Mac — does not integrate with the Mac desktop)
2. Install Windows XP Pro (Vista Business or Ultimate and Windows 7 Professional work but cost more).
3. Install Artsystems software

Each step is automated and straightforward, but Artsystems Support will assist new software customers with their original installation and configuration (via telelphone and Internet). Please see our FAQs for tips on running on Intel Macs via Parallels or VMWare.

Note: Parallels Desktop and VMWare Fusion enables Artsystems software to run just as fast and alongside native Mac software, share the desktop, and launch from its 'dock'.

Mac PowerPC users should upgrade to an Intel Mac to run Artsystems, implement one of the solutions below, or call for additional alternatives.

Other solutions for Intel or PowerPC Macs (these also allow remote access via the Internet):

• Elusiva Terminal Server Pro (multiple connections via single Windows XP Pro license)
• Windows Terminal Services (server-based solution)
• Citrix (server-based solution)

Yes, we are still working full-speed developing our 'native' Mac applications, but with an Intel Mac, there is no reason to wait to get started with Artsystems: when our native Mac version is released, you will only need pay the difference in price, and we will convert your Artsystems data for free. ings

Windows

Windows minimum: 266 MHz Pentium^® II PC, 256 MB RAM (your choice of OS may require system upgrades beyond this bare minimum). Supported OS: Windows 2000, Windows XP Pro, Windows Vista* Ultimate, Windows Vista* Business, Windows Vista* Home Premium (stand-alone only), Windows 7 Professional.

Windows recommended: 1 GHz Intel^® Dual Core 2 processor or AMD equivalent, 1+ GB RAM, CD-RW. Windows XP Pro, Windows Vista* Business, or Windows 7 Professional.

WINDOWS VERSIONS NOT SUPPORTED (may not operate): Vista Home Basic, Vista Home Premium (networks), XP Home, 95, 98, or ME. Go to the Windows Anytime Upgrade Web site for an upgrade if needed.

*For Vista, actual requirements and product functionality may vary based on your system configuration. Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor can help you determine which features and edition of Windows Vista will run on your computer.

GalleryPro Link to QuickBooks Pro/Premier

Artsystems GalleryPro and QuickBooks Pro or Premier 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, or 2009 for Windows are required. Linking QuickBooks Pro or Premier 2009 with GalleryPro requires purchase of an addtional utility from Artsystems for $149. See our Pricing page for details.

Artsystems Web Manager

Artsystems GalleryPro or Studio software, active GalleryPro or Studio Software Maintenance subscription, and broadband (DSL, Cable, or fractional T1) connection are required.

Users must not have Norton Antivirus software installed, as Norton will not allow scripts to run that are necessary for the operation of this product. See details here. Artsystems recommends McAfee products instead. Artsystems will not be responsible for resolution of errors caused by conflicts with installed Norton software.
