Exchange Works Data and Images with others via DataKits
A DataKit is a file created by Artsystems software that includes information about selected works. It includes the work detail information, images, and the Infosheet document. This file can easily be exchanged by artists, dealers, and collectors using Artsystems software, saving data entry time and ensuring accuracy. In addition, DataKits are used by the Web Manager to update the contents of Artsystems Web sites.
The DataKit includes the following fields: Artist, Title, Year, Edition, Description, Media, Dimensions, Dimension notes, Retail Price, Work Type, Signature, Signature Notes, Category, and Inventory Number. Inclusion of the Insurance Value and User Fields 1-6 is optional. The DataKit also includes images attached to the Work and the Work's Infosheet Document, which can be enhanced through the Catalogue Module.
To create a DataKit, select Works by Marking, creating a View Set, or selecting a Worksheet of previously saved Works. Then select File>Create DataKit, as shown below.
The resulting DataKit file can be emailed to a fellow Artsystems user and imported into a Receive Works transaction, after previewing in individual editable screens as below.
